To be eligible for the sole representative visa, the person must be a senior employee of the overseas business. The applicant will have to make key operational decisions on behalf of the UK company and have to intend to work full-time. Besides, the sole representative cannot own more than 50% of the business.

What can I do in the UK on Sole Representative Visa?

You can begin working full-time for the overseas company, bring your family to the UK, stay for at least 3 years and extend your visa for a further 2 years after this period and settle in the UK after 5 full years.

The Overseas Company needs to have a certain level of turnover to be eligible?

The overseas company does not need to have any minimum level of turnover or profit.

There are no minimum requirements to earn any level of salary or benefits, but they should be appropriate for a senior employee in the company.

How to understand if the overseas company is eligible to establish a UK branch or subsidiary?

The parent company based overseas must be a genuine business that intends to set up a branch or subsidiary in the UK.

With this visa, will it be possible to work for another company in the UK?

No, the sole representative can only be employed by the parent company’s subsidiary or branch.

Is it possible to bring the family to the UK with this visa?

Yes, sole representatives can bring their spouse, civil partner, unmarried or same-sex partner, and any children under the age of 18.
